Gentle fascial therapy with Brooke Brimner, RN & Certified Bowenwork® Practitioner

Gentle Bowen Therapy fascial release treatment with Brooke Brimner RN in Kingsville

What is Bowen Therapy?

Gentle enough to help calm your nervous system. Powerful enough to help your body move the way it was designed to. Rather than using forceful manipulation, Bowen Therapy uses a series of precise, rolling movements over specific muscle groups, tendons, and deep fascia (connective tissue). By gently encouraging the body toward a more relaxed, restful state, Bowenwork® is designed to support pain relief, improve joint mobility, and help address the underlying patterns behind chronic discomfort.

Your Care Path: Rebalancing the Body

Your first Bowen session begins with an assessment and foundational relaxation movements designed to help the nervous system settle and the body begin responding to treatment.

Subsequent visits are tailored specifically to your wellness goals. Each follow-up session pairs these essential balancing movements with specialized clinical procedures targeted directly at your specific areas of pain, restriction, or injury.

The Clinical Advantage: Brooke’s Nursing Background

Bowen Therapy with Brooke Brimner offers the benefit of both specialized Bowenwork® training and a strong healthcare foundation. As a Registered Nurse, Brooke brings a deeper understanding of anatomy, physiology, and how the body responds to stress, injury, and recovery.

Her nursing background allows her to approach each session with a thoughtful, individualized perspective while helping clients better understand how their body is responding to stress, injury, and recovery. Combined with her Bowen Therapy expertise, Brooke provides gentle, focused care designed to support relaxation, mobility, and overall wellness. Whether you're recovering from an injury, dealing with ongoing tension, or simply looking for a gentler approach to care, Brooke takes the time to listen and tailor each treatment to what your body needs that day.

Bowen Frequently Asked Questions

Does Bowen Therapy hurt?

No. Bowen Therapy is a gentle technique that uses very light pressure, so most clients find it relaxing rather than painful.

What should I wear?

Bowen Therapy can be performed through light, comfortable clothing or directly on the skin, depending on the area being treated and your comfort level. If you choose to remain clothed, loose-fitting clothing such as shorts and a T-shirt works best. If treatment is performed directly on the skin, you will be professionally draped with sheets at all times, and only the area being treated will be uncovered.

Is Bowen Therapy covered by Extended Health Care Benefits?

Bowen Therapy is not covered under Registered Massage Therapy benefits and we are unable to direct bill for Bowen treatments. However, many extended health plans include a Health Care Spending Account (HCSA). If your plan includes an HCSA, Bowen Therapy is often eligible for reimbursement. We recommend checking with your insurance provider or plan administrator to confirm your coverage.

How many treatments will I need?

This varies from person to person. Some clients notice a difference after just a few sessions, while others with more complex or long-standing concerns may benefit from an ongoing care plan built around their goals.

Can I have Bowen Therapy after surgery?

Bowen Therapy can be a gentle addition to post-surgical recovery for many clients, but we recommend checking with your surgeon or physician first, especially in the early stages of healing, to make sure it's appropriate for your specific recovery timeline.

Can children receive Bowen Therapy?

Yes, Bowen Therapy is gentle enough that many practitioners see clients of various ages, including children. If you're considering it for your child, reach out beforehand so Brooke can discuss what's appropriate for their specific needs.
